What is a split carousel?: One wide image cut into equal parts and posted as a carousel. Each swipe reveals the next part, so the picture continues across the slides.
How many parts can I make?: Two to six. The preview shows the cut lines before you split, so you know exactly what each slide will look like.
What image size works best for Instagram?: Instagram shows carousel slides at 1080 by 1350 pixels in portrait or 1080 by 1080 square. For a sharp three part carousel, start with an image around 3240 pixels wide. Smaller images still work, they just get scaled up when you post.
Are the parts exactly equal?: Yes. The width is divided evenly across the parts. If it does not divide perfectly, a part may be one pixel wider, which is not visible.
Does my image get uploaded anywhere?: No. The splitting happens entirely in your browser on your own device. Nothing leaves your computer.
